Starting something new always comes with uncertainty, but also with excitement. Over three and a half years ago Nandini began her journey at SWARCO. Back then, everything was new. Not just the company, but also the domain of work. “I was looking for a new challenge and came across a job post from SWARCO on LinkedIn. The domain was completely new to me, but that’s exactly what made it interesting,” Nandini recalls.
“How is it, how will it be?” Questions like this stayed with her in the early days. Starting in an unfamiliar field brought a mix of excitement and uncertainty. However, that feeling didn’t last long: “From the very beginning, I felt welcomed and supported by the team, which made starting here a truly positive experience. The people were incredibly encouraging.” What could have been a difficult transition quickly turned into a positive experience, shaped by a warm welcome, genuine encouragement and strong team support.
Today, Nandini is a well-established member of the team.
“I’ve been here for more than three and a half years now. I feel confident in my role and know my way around.”

Over time, the daily routine has become a familiar rhythm. One that is structured, yet flexible enough to grow with the team. “We start each day with a quick team meeting to align on priorities and support each other.”, Nandini explains. From there, the day unfolds with a mix of tasks: “Then we dive into our tasks: developing new features, improving existing ones, or fixing bugs.” And while the tasks may vary, the focus stays the same: building great things together.

“We work closely with backend developers and other team members. It’s great to be part of a team where everyone’s voice is heard and where we lift each other up.”, she says with a smile. Teamwork is at the heart of everything: Whether it’s brainstorming ideas, solving technical challenges, or simply checking in with one another, the team dynamic is built on trust and mutual respect. Everyone brings their own strengths to the table and diversity within the team is something Nandini deeply values:
“I love working with people from different cultures and backgrounds. There’s always something new to learn from each other that makes the work both exciting and meaningful.”

Every project brings its own set of challenges. Some stand out more than others. “We are working on one application called ‘MyCity’. It’s a huge and complex application. At times we had to meet a critical deadline. It was intense, but we pulled together as a team and delivered on time. Seeing the immediate impact of our work was incredibly rewarding.” SWARCO MyCity is a cutting-edge urban mobility management ecosystem that helps cities optimize traffic flow, enhance road safety, and reduce environmental impact. Nandini and her team play a key role in making cities safer, greener and more liveable. E.g. by reducing traffic jams, allowing emergency vehicles to get through more easily, and improving air quality.

Over time, Nandini has grown not only professionally but also personally: “I’ve learned so much from my colleagues. Not just technical skills, but also how to collaborate, communicate, and work toward a shared goal. These experiences have shaped how I approach challenges.” It’s this kind of growth that fuels innovation. People evolve and so does the work they create.

What makes the job especially meaningful is the impact on the real world. “What we do here affects people’s daily lives. That gives the work a deeper purpose and keeps things exciting. There’s always a new puzzle to solve.”
