SWARCO celebrates double win at ITS UK AWARDS 2025
The SWARCO team celebrated a double win at the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) UK President’s Dinner and Awards 2025, taking home two major awards that recognise excellence in safer, smarter and more sustainable mobility.
The team was awarded the prestigious Better Safety Through Technology Award for our ClearPath Smart Flood Response for Safer Roads. Developed in collaboration with Warrington Borough Council, the ClearPath solution utilises intelligent flood detection sensors, real-time data and variable message signage to automatically close roads and immediately warn drivers when flooding occurs in the town.
The expert judging panel praised ClearPath as “an innovative flood detection and alerting system that leverages real-time data to provide local authorities with the ability to respond immediately,” adding that “as flooding incidents become more common, data insights and real-time monitoring will be essential to the continued safety of our transport infrastructure and drivers.”
This achievement was followed by the team also picking up the Better Mobility Through Technology Award. In partnership with Chesire East Highways, our ImFlow platform is helping to create a more efficient and liveable community by dynamically prioritising pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
The judges noted that the scheme “has helped encourage active travel and community,” and highlighted “the opportunity for scalability at other sites across the UK.”
