“SWARCO is to Neutal what Mozart is to Austria.”
This quote from the mayor of Neutal during the celebrations on September 24 not only highlights the importance of our traffic light and variable message sign factory for the Burgenland economy, but also serves as a powerful statement of appreciation for our local workforce.
Comprehensively modernized, our site now shines in new splendor after a 13-month renovation phase. That’s a great reason to celebrate, and 160 guests from 20 countries accepted SWARCO FUTURIT’s invitation to the official reopening. A spacious marquee provided the perfect setting for welcome drinks, finger food, buffet, photo wall, and a two-hour official program featuring speeches by SWARCO CEO Michael Schuch, SWARCO FUTURIT Managing Director Artur Pesendorfer, and Burgenland’s Minister for Economic Affairs Leonhard Schneemann.

A highlight was undoubtedly the anniversary film followed by a show act by Hamburg-based sand artist and illustrator Vernessa.
In a concluding panel discussion with SWARCO CFO Lukas Schneider, former FUTURIT Managing Director Franz Silhengst, Neutal’s Mayor Erich Trummer, architect Andreas Hawlik, and plant manager Artur Schubert, moderator Richard Neumann explored the beginnings of the construction phase and the challenges at the time, SWARCO’s willingness to invest during economically challenging times, the significance of the plant for Neutal and the region, the collaboration with the architect behind the modern design, and the employee perspective in the new, contemporary working environment.
Mayor Trummer had two surprises in store: Artur Pesendorfer received a special certificate featuring the symbol of a large clothespin, commemorating Neutal’s partnership with Wattens since 2001, triggered by the automobile club ARBÖ. Additionally, the Neutal municipal council unanimously decided to award Michael Schuch the honorary badge of Neutal in recognition of his and the entire workforce’s contributions to the community.
