URBAN TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT, Czech Republic, Prague

Municipality of Prague, 2007 - 2023

The City of Prague suffers from the major traffic stream leading through the city as a result of a missing city-bypass. To improve the traffic situation and to avoid unnecessary congestions as far as possible, SWARCO implemented a new urban traffic control centre and new traffic light controllers. Taking into account the people’s growing awareness for environment protection, all old signals are replaced with energy saving and environmentally friendly LED technology.

  • 3 urban traffic control centres (hardware and software)
  • Traffic controllers
  • centralisation of 350 intersections (hardware and software)
  • Traffic detectors and communication devices (OCIT 1.1 interface)
