Motorway ringroad A99 Munich - Relocation of the junction Aschheim / Ismaning, Bavaria, Germany

Because of the extension of the junction Aschheim / Ismaning on the motorway A99 near Munich, the signposting and the corresponding display points of the corridor control system including the hard shoulder running system had to be adapted.

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT AND TEMPORARY OPENING OF THE HARD SHOULDER MOTORWAY A9 HOLLEDAU - NEUFAHRN 1st + 2nd stage, Bavaria, Germany

In order to better use the existing infrastruc-ture, a traffic management system was in-stalled and the existing corridor control installation in direction Munich was renewed and extended. Additionally, a system for the temporary opening of the hard shoulder was installed which allows using the hard shoulder as additional lane during peak times.

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT IN THE CITY OF LUXEMBURG - IMPLEMENTATION OF THREE METROPOLITAN TUNNELS , Luxemburg, City of Luxemburg

Since 2004 the traffic management system and tunnel technology have been continuously adapted in the city of Luxemburg. In the course of years, thus three of the most important metropolitan road tunnels were have been equipped, modernized and extented with traffic technology by STS and finally integrated in the city network.

SWARCO TRAFFIC SYSTEMS was considerably involved in this project: Both with dismantling and rebuilding the traffic management on motorway A1 and with the new corridor control system on motorway A27.

HGV PARKING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ON MOTORWAY A5 BETWEEN FREIBURG AND BASEL, Germany

With the new HGV parking management system SWARCO TRAFFIC SYSTEMS has implemented a pilot project on the motorway A5 between Freiburg and Basel. It is part of the EU project "Easy Way – Harmonising European ITS Services and Actions" and was implemented in cooperation with the federal state of Baden-Württemberg, the "Landesstelle für Straßentechnik" and the Regional Administrative Authority in Freiburg.

Wankdorf in the northern part of the city of Berne is both, residential area for approx. 20 000 people and industrial area with soccer stadium, shopping mall, BEAbern expo, BernArena, Klee-Center and more. A new traffic management system with dynamic signposting was installed to control the high traffic volumes.

CORRIDOR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM MOTORWAY A1 DORTMUND-UNNA – INTERCHANGE KAMEN, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

SWARCO TRAFFIC SYSTEMS Interurban harmonizes the traffic on motorway A1 between Dortmund-Unna and the interchange Kamen, a section infamous for its high traffic volumens and congestions.

Forecasts of more than 100,000 vehicles per day on the motorway A60 in the year 2025 made the 6-lane expansion of the motorway ring around the city of Mainz indispensable. With the installation of a network wide rerouting system including dynamic signposting and temporary opening of the hard shoulder on the motorway A63, SWARCO TRAFFIC SYSTEMS Interurban makes an important contribution to this project.

ELECTRONIC DEER PASS WARNING SYSTEM ON FEDERAL ROAD B202 RASTORFER KREUZ, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany

Deer pass warning systems stand the test, reducing the number of accidents caused by deer wild animals by nearly 100 %.
But they do not only raise road safety but also actively make a contribution to protect nature. Habitats fragmented by roads are reunited and the genetic exchange of the wildlife is assured.

TUNNEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM CARMEL TUNNELS, Haifa, Israel

The project includes the complete tunnel management system with central software and 27 outstations. To a larger part, SWARCO TRAFFIC SYSTEMS Interurban acts, together with our partner Menorah Izu Aharon in Israel, as system integrator and coordinator.
