Overheight detector

For height control systems in front of tunnels and bridges

The HISIC450 overheight detector monitors the height of vehicles – e.g. at tunnel entrances, low underpasses or low bridges. Reliable stop and alarm signals are activated when a vehicle infringes both photoelectric switches and this signal is then combined with traffic data (e. g., induction loop signal). Even overheight vehicles traveling at speeds of up to 100 km/h can reliably be detected. Due to its large beam diameter and high signal reserve, the detector can even cope with difficult weather conditions, i.e. rain, snow and dust clouds.

DOUBLE SENDER / RECEIVER SYSTEM:

The HISIC450 consists of two safety light barriers that are mounted with a certain distance parallel to eachother, but facing the opposite direction. In contrast to a reflection light barrier, the sender/receiver system requires an energy source on both sides of the street, but is able to supply reliable measuring data even under the most difficult weather conditions. Using simple connections of both light barrier signals and possibly other traffic sensors (e.g. laser scanners or induction loops), a monitoring, largely free from false alarms can be realized.
