PARKING GUIDANCE SYSTEM, UK, Westfield London

Westfield London Shopping Centre, 2007

Challenge

Westfield London is one of Europe’s largest shopping malls (270 stores on 150,000 m²), already well connected to means of public transport and London’s motorways. To improve convenience for customers visiting the shopping mall by car, SWARCO implemented a clear and user-friendly parking guidance system with single space monitoring, based on modern LED signage.

Details

  • 4000 individually monitored parking spaces
  • 100 internal direction signs
  • 6 external motorway signs

SWARCO’s solution utilises a single space monitoring system according to the needs of the shopping
mall, including internal direction signs within the individual car parks:

  • 5 car parks
  • 4,500 individually monitored parking spaces
  • 100 internal direction signs
  • 6 external motorway signs

Benefits

  • Improved customer convenience through better visual orientation
  • Reduction of unnecessary congestion caused by motorists looking for parking spaces
  • Optimised capacity utilisation
  • Reduced fuel consumption means a reduction in CO² emissions resulting in less pollution
