SWARCO appoints new Sales Manager for Smart City Messenger

SWARCO Traffic has appointed Tony Logan as Sales Manager to support the roll-out of Smart City Messenger, its next-generation of mobile Variable Message Signs (VMS).

Tony, originally a Fire Fighter from New Zealand, came to the UK in 1998 to play professional rugby, and took up a position in telecommunications before entering the highways industry. He has particular expertise in the VMS market, having recently led the development and delivery of a broad range of traffic design, management and operational maintenance projects.With this experience, Tony is excited to be working with Smart City Messenger: “The build and quality of SWARCO’s signs and LED technology are exceptional. SWARCO has an extremely strong brand, and I am really looking forward to working for a truly innovative manufacturer.”Smart City Messenger has four central features: the only full colour portable VMS in the UK; a long-lasting fuel cell power unit enables year round unattended operation; an associated Android phone app for remote control and flexible use; and Urban Traffic Management Control (UTMC) connectivity for local council use. “We will be able to combine my experience and knowledge with the benefits of Smart City Messenger to demonstrate the positive impact of the technology on current and potential clients,” Tony adds.
