SWARCO V.S.M. IN ENGLAND FOR THE FIRST TIME

03/25/2011

Nine SWARCO V.S.M. service technicians lead by Werner Huber have recently returned with their five vehicles from a two week mission from England’s South West. The technicians of the manufacturer independent German company installed SmartStuds, inductive in-pavement LED road markers made by Sagitar, in the Saltash tunnel near Plymouth. They were accompanied by a technician of DAMBACH UK.

Originally, SWARCO V.S.M.’s intention was to provide their services as a subcontractor, but the planning office Balfour Beatty Mott MacDonald was looking for a contract with a strong and renowned company, ideally located in England. This brought DAMBACH UK into play, which will also take over maintenance work and possible extensions of the project in the future.

Raimund Scheulen, managing director of SWARCO V.S.M., is very pleased with the success of the project, which could be finished a day earlier than planned. He believes that this step into the English market – together with corresponding references – will open up new opportunities for his company.

The second phase of the project – installations on the well-known Tamar bridge, connecting Devon and Cornwall – will start in September.
