SWARCO FUTURIT CELEBRATES THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PRODUCTION SITE NEUTAL

09/21/2010

More than 400 guests representing staff, neighbours, customers, as well as representatives of politics and economy came to Neutal on Spetember 17th to celebrate the 10th anniversary of SWARCO FUTURIT's production site in central Burgenland with good music and excellent food. The celebration was accompanied by speeches from LR Dr. Peter Rezar (on behalf of Governor Hans Niessl), Mayor Erich Trummer, Neutal's honorary citizen and SWARCO CEO Manfred Swarovski, and SWARCO FUTURIT's managing directors Friedrich Hofstadler and Michael Schuch.

The premiere of a new company film and a special cinematic congratulation featuring the staff of the Neutal production site were some of the highlights of the day. Long standing partners and also 49 members of the staff, who have worked at the site in Neutal since its beginning in 2000, were honoured and presented with beautiful SWAROVSKI crystal trophies.

The development of SWARCO FUTURIT is an impressive story of success. The annual turnover of the company more than doubled in the last decade - despite the recent economic crisis. Managing director Michael Schuch is especially proud of the fact that in 2009, for the first time, SWARCO FUTURIT was able to produce more than 4000 variable message signs. The site at Neutal had to be extended several times already and will soon be enlarged considerably again. With 180 employees at Neutal and another 40 at Perchtoldsdorf, the company is an important contributor to the wealth of the region.

Innovation and technological leadership are the cornerstones of SWARCO FUTURIT's success, the world-leading manufacturer of traffic lights. It therefore does not come as a surprise that SWARCO's center of competence for LED signalling technology is located in Neutal. Friedrich Hofstadler looks into the future with high expectations when he talks about SWARCO FUTURIT's latest innovation, the ground-breaking LED-based streetlight FUTURLUX, which left a huge impression at the world-leading trade show for lighting technology in Frankfurt this spring. FUTURLUX will help secure existing jobs and even create new ones.

SWARCO FUTURIT's product range includes traffic lights, variable message signs, railway signals and streetlights and has been extended with products by LEA, a Slovenian daughter company that produces mobile variable message signs, warning trailers for construction sites, LED displays for public transport and parking solutions. This strengthens SWARCO FUTURIT's position as market leader in the development and production of optical signalling technology based on energy-saving light-emitting diodes.
