Data Protection Declaration for our Social Media Sites

In the following we would like to inform you on how we handle your data pursuant to Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data controller

You can find our contact data in our Imprint.

Besides us, there exists the operator of the social media platform. To that extent, this operator is another data controller who conducts data processing, on which, however, we only have limited influence. In those areas where we can exert influence and parametrise the data processing, we encourage the operator of the social media platform, within the framework of the possibilities available to us, to treat the data in compliance with data protection law. However, there are many areas where we cannot influence the way the operator of the social media platform processes the data and we also do not know exactly which data are processed by the operator.

How we process data

The data entered by you on our social media sites such as, for example, comments, videos, pictures, likes, public news, etc. are published by the social media platform and will at no time be used or processed by us for other purposes. However, we reserve the right to delete contents should this become necessary. Where applicable, we share contents on our site if this is a function of the social media platform and we use the social media platform to communicate with you. The legal basis is Art. 6 par. 1 sentence 1 lit. f of the GDPR. Data processing is carried out in the interest of our public relations work and communication.

If you wish to object to a certain way of data processing which we can influence, please use the contact data indicated in the imprint for contact. We will then validate your objection.

If you send us a request via the social media platform, we may depending on the required answer also refer to other, more secure communication channels which guarantee confidentiality. You have at any time the possibility to send confidential requests to us by using the address indicated in the imprint.

As has already been pointed out, in those areas where the provider of the social media platform gives us the possibility to do so, we make sure to organise our social media sites in a way that ideally complies with data protection law. Therefore, we do not use in particular the demographic, interest-based, behaviour-based or location-based target group definitions for advertisements which the operator of the social media platform might put at our disposal. Overall, we do not use the social media platform for advertising purposes. As regards statistics provided to us by the provider of the social media platform we can only influence them to a certain degree and we also cannot turn them off. However, we make sure that no additional optional statistics are made available to us.

Data processing by the operator of the social media platform

The operator of the social media platform uses web tracking methods. Web tracking can be carried out regardless of whether you are logged into or registered on the social media platform. As has already been pointed out, unfortunately we cannot exert any significant influence on the web tracking methods of the social media platform. For example, we cannot turn them off.

Please be aware: It cannot be excluded that the provider of the social media platform uses your profile and behaviour data for example to analyse your habits, personal relationships, preferences, etc. We thus have no influence on the processing of your data by the provider of the social media platform.
