Stores Assistant

Your Challenge

We have a vacancy for a Stores Person/Junior Stores person to join our team based in Melsonby.

What you will do

The role's main purpose is to assist with incoming and outgoing stock at the Melsonby. Ensuring that all stock movements and stock levels are correct on SAP. 

  • To complete Sales Order picklists in a timely manner
  • To dispatch out going consignments as required
  • To carry out stores duties as instructed by line Manager
  • To handle all incoming deliveries into the Melsonby depot (checking the integrity of the physical parts against supplier delivery documents)
  • Receipting delivered goods in SAP
  • To ensure the return of faulty parts for repair in a cost- effective manner, in line with company procedures
  • Assist with the loading, unloading of palleted consignments, Pallet Stacker and counterbalance trucks and other lifting equipment
  • To process palleted outward consignments
  • Reporting any operational stores issues to the line
  • To accurately pick and prepare parts required for Sales Order projects
  • Allocating picked stock to correct projects in SAP to ensure project costs are correctly allocated
  • To assist in stock takes and cycle counting within the company to ensure the highest level of accuracy is achieved
  • Updating and maintenance of excel spreadsheets with stock information
  • Use of Outlook for business emails, calendar, stored information in Stock & Procurement database
  • To ensure that all paperwork is processed in accordance with the correct procedures and completed in a timely, neat, and accurate fashion to ensure that due diligence practices are complied with

  • To be fully aware of the company’s customer care goals and portray the company in the best possible light through actions and attitude and by always being polite and courteous around customers and the general public workplace are adhered to
  • As far as is practically possible, to assist with any other reasonable requested duties that are required for the smooth running of the company

Your Profile

In order to fulfil the role successfully the following are some of the key skills and experience required:

  • Team working ability
  • Good IT skills including Excel / Word & O365
  • Good communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work on their own initiative with minimal day-to- day supervision
  • Must be able to adapt to changing priorities, be multi- tasking and react effectively under pressure
  • Fork Truck licence - desirable
  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Ability to commute to the warehouse on a daily basis
