Your challenge

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our team to develop central cloud system software for Swarco ITS in the UK.

  • Implement, document and test software solutions using C# .NET 5+
  • Design new micro services and enhance existing ones
  • Perform Design-, Code- and Peer-Reviews of your colleagues.
  • Daily work in an agile environment, develop and optimize processes and best practices.
  • Liaise with Swarco central software development for core architecture activities in Germany.
  • Interpret customer requirements specifications generating functional requirements documentation for software development.
  • Maintain software development to company quality standards while helping to attain the highest security standards for our cloud systems.

Your Profile

Your profile

The ideal candidate will have experience in developing software using C# .Net 5+ and interpreting specifications for software development. Experience/knowledge of using ASP .NET Web API, gRPC, RabbitMQ, Redis or similar technologies. They will also need to have good organisation skills and ability of working on own initiative. 

Other supporting responsibilities

  • Working with central engineering Cloud system development in Germany, as well as contractors and internal software resource in the UK
  • Assist Business development and sales with potential business and tenders
  • Assist Project Managers with delivery of customer projects to specification and timescales

As we are a small team, there is potential for you to branch out to work on different areas and, as you continue your career with SWARCO, the breadth of your work will naturally increase. Additional skills that would be useful in this regard are:

  • Cloud Architecture and communications networks
  • Atlassian Toolset JIRA or similar, Confluence and Bitbucket
  • Docker Kubernetes containerisation and deployment
  • Knowledge of MongoDB or similar
  • API development including knowledge of automated testing
  • Relevant Computer Science qualification or equivalent
  • Commercial software development experience
  • Expertise with C#
  • Degree in computer science or equivalent qualifications/experience
  • Good Communication skills: ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Must have the right to work and live in the UK
