We have a vacancy for an experienced Head of Construction, with exceptional leadership, organisational, judgement and teamworking qualities, to join our PoGo Charge Team to Head up the EV delivery for our business. In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing  the installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, solar car ports, solar and energy storage solutions. Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will also work closely with multiple teams including, Design, Pre-construction, Network Development, and Commercial. The position is based anywhere in the UK but will require monthly review meetings in Hemel or London, therefore the ability to travel and overnight stays are a requirement. As well as travel and customer/site visits nationally within in the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Island is required).

Some of what you will do

• Responsibility for a team of 4 – 6 Project Managers and administration staff
• Responsibility for overseeing the maximizing of efficiencies of Installation projects (time, quality, and margin)
• Responsibility for accurate, weekly forecasting of the Installation Back Order Book (WIP)
•  Overseeing Health & Safety of all project related staff and subcontractors
•  Constant contact with our customers
• Maximisation of our project margins.
• Oversee management and appointment of Installation sub-contractors
• Monitoring and reduction of operating costs and working within agreed budgets.
• Administration of overtime, expenses, holidays etc. is managed in an efficient and timely manner
• Implementation of corporate strategic direction in the business
• Participate and support annual appraisal process, development and training for all Installation and admin staff

What we are looking for

• 3 Years installation or operational experience
• Experience in management or leadership
• Project management qualification and SMSTS an advantage
• Detailed knowledge of projects and Installations
• Ability to make decisions based upon technical expertise and use of teams knowledge
• Strong motivation to achieve, well organised and structured approach
• Ability to create a performance-based organisation through the use of metrics, processes and systems
• Considerable interpersonal and management skills
• Specific knowledge of accepted accounting practices and procedures
• Excellent communication skills
• Costs accounting
• Able to work under pressure
• Decision making skills
• A broad knowledge of products, able to manage assigned team members within the frame of a contract and experience of working with suppliers and customers
• Good administration and co-ordination skills
• Dealing with sub contractors
• Generation of reports
• Good motivational acumen and drive
• Excellent organisation skills – managing and leading a team
• Full driving licence
• Ability to live and work in the UK
