Deer pass warning systems stand the test, reducing the number of accidents caused by deer wild animals by nearly 100 %.
But they do not only raise road safety but also actively make a contribution to protect nature. Habitats fragmented by roads are reunited and the genetic exchange of the wildlife is assured.

TUNNEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM CARMEL TUNNELS, Haifa, Israel

The project includes the complete tunnel management system with central software and 27 outstations. To a larger part, SWARCO TRAFFIC SYSTEMS Interurban acts, together with our partner Menorah Izu Aharon in Israel, as system integrator and coordinator.

GUIDANCE SYSTEM FOR HEAVY GOODS VEHICLES, Rheinfelden, Germany

Guidance system for heavy goods vehicles (HGV) on the motorway A98 in front of the customs facilities at Rheinfelden: In case of HGV tailbacks on the motorway, the right lane is reserved for waiting lorries while car drivers are to use the left lane.

Road condition and weather information services are the basis for an optimised winter road service adapted to the current weather situation. A winter service when, where and how it is necessary leads to quicker reaction times and the number of accidents is drastically reduced.

TUNNEL AIRPORT TEGEL (TFT), motorway A111, Berlin, Germany

In the tunnel test "Euro TAP 2009" by the largests German Automobile Assciation, the ADAC, Tunnel Airport Tegel was rated "very good". In spite of a traffic volume of 87 000 veh/day, there were NO complaints for the tested points of the traffic technology. After the Tunnel Tiergarten Spreebogen, this is the second tunnel management system by SWARCO TRAFFIC SYSTEMS in Berlin to receive a favourable rating.

TUNNEL TIERGARTEN SPREEBOGEN (TTS), Highway B96, Berlin, Germany

In the tunnel test "Euro TAP 2007" by the largests German Automobile Assciation, the ADAC, Tunnel Tiergarten Spreebogen wins first place in Germany and second place in Europe at first go among 51 tunnels in 13 European countries. It was thus rated "Germany's safest tunnel" in spite of its high traffic loads, its several entrances and exits, the difficult traffic layout and therefore the complex traffic control system.

GOTTHARD TUNNEL, TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM, Switzerland

Gotthard Tunnel in the Swiss Alps is one of the most critical bottlenecks on the transit route between Northern and Southern Europe. With a length of 17 km, it is one of the longest two-way tunnels in the world. Originally installed in 2005, the traffic management system by SWARCO TRAFFIC SYSTEMS was extended in 2009/2010.
