SWARCO BACK FROM TRAFFEX

04/06/2011

Visitors to TRAFFEX stand E10 got insight into the traffic solution capabilities of SWARCO. The group presented its turnkey solution approach based on OMNIA which encompasses fully automated and adaptive control principles as well as traffic responsive and traffic actuated strategies, added to up-to-date traffic monitoring techniques and flexible solutions to integrate a large variety of traffic light controllers, like for example SWARCO’s ITC-3.

Parliamentary Undersecretary of State for Transport Norman Baker paid a visit to our stand and was particularly interested in energy saving LED signalling technology, FUTURLUX street lighting and Public Transport displays.

A design and performance highlight was SWARCO FUTURIT's latest optical development in LED-based VMS technology. With a pixel pitch of 12 mm, the sign not only provides high resolution fully graphic information with brilliant luminosity, but is operated at only 4% of its rated current, thus being extremely energy-efficient. SWARCO company DAMBACH UK presented a speed awareness sign, bay parking space identification with LEDs and a parking guidance sign with indication of free spaces. DAMBACH-WERKE from Germany contributed with a large prismatic sign and LED-based tunnel emergency lightings.

The TRAFFIC MATERIALS Division presented its innovative high performance glass bead products which increase reflectivity and durability of road markings. High index beads for airport markings, SOLIDPLUS beads for white and coloured stripings in zones where driver and pedestrian safety is particularly vital, SWARODIT reflective coating to give conspicuity to obstacles in traffic space, and various uses of easy-to-apply EUROTHERM preformed thermoplastic were on display.

On PARKEX stand P42 Dambach UK focused on its parking products, in cooperation with partner bebarmatic. EnergieParken, an intelligent solution to charge e-cars with electricity while they are parked, was presented by SWARCO TRAFFIC SYSTEMS and attracted substantial attention.
