SWARCO AT ITS WORLD CONGRESS ORLANDO
09/08/2011
Visitors to SWARCO booth #1971 will be introduced to latest products and solutions for better traffic flow, adaptive traffic control, traffic data acquisition and energy-efficient, LED-based signage and lighting.
The integrated road transport environment (IRTE) becomes reality with OMNIA, the map-based total traffic solution software. OMNIA is the open platform and integrated architecture in which ITS applications for traffic control, public transport management, environment monitoring and multimedia mobility information can fully cooperate to implement traffic management strategies.
With its innovative iTRAVEL system, SWARCO offers road operators a means to acquire traffic data and travel time information by Bluetooth and Passive Infrared detection. This tool is successfully used by the Dutch National Data Warehouse for Traffic Information.
A large prismatic sign will demonstrate SWARCO’s capabilities in reliable, variable signage as used at many toll stations on US highways. Thanks to a novel lens system, highest energy-efficiency and brilliant light output can be experienced with SWARCO’s LED-based variable message signs. Higher resolution (12 mm pixel pitch) and minimum power requirements (the VMS is driven at only 4% of the LEDs’ rated output and nevertheless conforms with the highest lighting classes) are innovative assets resulting from SWARCO’s optical know-how with LEDs. The energy-saving light source has also been implemented in SWARCO’s generation of LED street lights branded FUTURLUX. The special shape of FUTURLUX BEAM and its arrangement parallel to the road course now give street lighting a traffic guidance function while providing a new quality in illumination with neutral white light.
