RECORD CONTRACT FOR SWARCO NORDIC

11/30/2010

Norra Länken ("northern link") is one of Sweden’s largest highway and infrastructure projects. Basically, it is a 16 km highway and tunnel system in the centre of Stockholm. Norra Länken will create benefits for both the local residents and the road users and will also have significant positive effects on the environment and traffic safety in Sweden’s capital city.

Trafikverket, the Swedish Road Administration, has now officially awarded the Norra Länken main contract for electrical installations, control systems and traffic management solutions to TUNNELENTREPRENAD AB, a joint-venture between SWARCO NORDIC and GOODTECH. GOODTECH’s excellent proficiency in engineering services and SWARCO’s traffic management expertise are an ideal combination to guarantee state-of-the-art know-how and competence for this large project.

”Strategically this is a very important project for us and perfectly in line with our ambitions to take on an extended responsibility in contracting and system integration”, says Hans Petter Ødegaard, managing director of SWARCO NORDIC. “We have high ambitions, and the competence and experience we gain from the Norra Länken project will be useful in order to secure our future growth - also outside Sweden”, adds Ødegaard. ”We are proud to be part of this project and our employees at SWARCO SWEDEN are really looking forward to this task. We are dedicated and ready”, says Joakim Rosen, managing director of SWARCO SWEDEN.

The project’s base contract value is about 52 MEUR (excl. options). It starts in November 2010 and lasts until 2015, followed by a 5-year service contract, including overall responsibility for maintenance and technical operation.
