FUTURLUX FOR HANSSON CURVE

08/29/2011

Since spring 2011 an important part of Vienna's A23 motorway, the so-called "Hanssonkurve", has been subject to an overall refurbishment. Traffic guidance is a particular challenge at this road stretch with an average traffic of some 145,000 vehicles every day.

In order to improve road safety, Austrian motorway operator ASFINAG - in addition to the usual construction zone safety measures - opted for installing LED road lights of the FUTURLUX HEAD 6M type. The white light of the almost 60 LED luminaires clearly helps the road users to better identify objects, which in turn enhances traffic safety. ASFINAG decision-makers were in particular convinced by the high energy efficiency and the longevity of the FUTURLUX luminaires made by SWARCO FUTURIT. The lights were planned and installed by EWW (Elektrizitätswerk Wels/Upper Austria) who contribute with several years of experience in the field of street lighting.
