Our paint factory in Romania

On March 29th, 2006 SWARCO EUROPE GMBH acquired a 67 % stake in the Romanian paint factory VICAS S.A. based in Targoviste. Subsequently SWARCO extended its share to now over 98%. Valentin Constantin, managing director of SWARCO VICAS S.A., is proud that because of the commitment of SWARCO the position of the traditional Romanian producer of paints, varnishes and coatings for civil and industrial buildings, construction equipment and the timber industry has improved with new impulses.

The VICAS production plant fulfills the requirements to produce road marking materials closer to the Southeast European customers. Currently the factory is upgraded, the production capacities enlarged, in order to secure existing jobs and add new ones. Special attention is paid to ecological technology and products.

The new EU member Romania will put more focus on its transportation infrastructure and is therefore a future market for SWARCO. Because of the geographical location in Romania, VICAS is able to supply the whole south-European market.

Targoviste as domicile of VICAS S.A. is able to compete with all cultural and economical centres of Europe.
More than 600 years ago Targoviste was first mentioned in a document, for 3 centuries it was the capital and seat of the Romanian principality. VICAS itself has been part of the townscape for more than 50 years and identifies itself with qualities like tradition, reconstruction and economic stability.
The trademark VICAS stands for quality, authenticity and continuity, according to its credo: "Partener care invinge timpul" (Partner who prevails over time).
